NeyborFood Pilot - Phoenix

NeyborFood is a grassroots network of neighborhood-based food growing neighbor("nodes") that connect backyard gardeners, aspiring growers, and food enthusiasts. Each node consists of eight or more neighbors who collaborate to grow, care for, and share pesticide-free fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers within their immediate community. Founded as a pilot program in Phoenix's Cheery Lynn Neighborhood, NeyborFood provides a simple framework for neighbors to build food resilience and authentic connections, without bureaucratic oversight. Members receive a toolkit for starting and maintaining their node, access to educational resources, and connection to a larger network of neighborhood growers. The program emphasizes democratic decision-making, shared knowledge, and mutual trust, creating a decentralized approach to local food production that strengthens community bonds and promotes sustainable growing practices.
